WHY SEO IS IMPORTANT? WHAT IS USE IN BUSSINESS?

Let me tell you a truth.

When I started my first business, I did not have money for ads. I used to post daily on Instagram, I would get 10 likes, out of which 8 were from my friends.

I thought, “My business is finished.”

Then someone told me, “Do SEO.”

I asked, “What is this SEO? Is it a new app?”

He said, “No, this is the thing that will bring your shop to the main road of Google.”

Today, 2 years later, 60% of my leads come from Google, without spending a single rupee on ads. And that is why I say, understanding SEO is the most important thing.

*First, Let’s Understand in Simple Terms, What is SEO?*

SEO means Search Engine Optimization.

In simple language – When someone types on Google “Best digital marketer in Delhi” or “Best gym in Kirari”, your name should come on top. That is SEO.

Think about it, when you need something, what do you do? You Google it, right? And do you go to the 2nd or 3rd page? No. Everyone clicks on the first 3-4 results only.

So, whoever is on top, is earning. Whoever is below, does not even exist.

What is The Use of SEO in Business?

1. Free Leads, For a Lifetime
What happens in Ads? You put money, customers come, money stops, customers stop. I once ran an ad of 10,000, it ran for 2 days, then it was over.
But a blog I wrote 8 months ago – “How to Learn Digital Marketing” – it still sends 3-4 people to my website every day. Completely free. This is the power of SEO. One time effort, repeated benefit.

2. It Builds Trust
Think yourself, one shop which is showing on top of Google, and another shop whose name is not even there. Who will you call?
The top one. Because it comes to mind, “This is on top of Google, so it must be right.”
SEO does not just give you traffic, it gives you trust.

3. The Biggest Weapon For Small Business
Big brands have a budget of lakhs for ads. You cannot beat them in ads.
But you can beat them in SEO. Because Google does not care about money, it cares about – “Who gave the best information?”
If you wrote the right content for your area, used the right keywords, then you can rank above even a big brand. I have seen it myself, a small tea shop ranking above Domino’s in its own area.

4. The Customer Comes To You By Himself
On Instagram, you run behind the customer – “Look at my product, look.”
In SEO it is the opposite. The customer searches himself – “I need this.”
A person who comes by searching himself is 80% ready to buy. That is why leads coming from SEO close the most.

5. Your Shop Is Open 24×7
You are sleeping, but your website is still getting leads from Google. SEO never sleeps. Your Instagram post will be forgotten in 2 days, but your Google ranking will keep working for you day and night.

6. You Get Local Customers Easily
Most people search “near me”. If your Google Business Profile is set up correctly, people in your own area will find you first. For a local business, this is more powerful than any ad.

7. It Reduces Your Marketing Cost
In the beginning SEO takes time, but after 6 months, your cost per lead becomes almost zero. While your competitors are still spending lakhs on ads every month, you are getting the same customers for free.

8. It Helps You Understand Your Customer
SEO tools tell you what people are searching, what they want, and what problem they have. This data is pure gold. You can make your product and your content based on what people actually need, not what you think they need.

9. It Gives You Long-Term Stability
Trends on social media change every week. One day Reels work, next day they don’t. But Google search has been the same for 20 years – people will always search when they need something. SEO gives your business that long-term stability.

10. It Makes You Better Than Your Competitors
Most small businesses still ignore SEO. They are only fighting on Instagram. If you start SEO now, you are already ahead of 90% of your competitors in your area. By the time they understand it, you will already be on top.

So, What Should You Do?

Don’t make it too complicated. In the beginning, just do 3 things:

1. Create your Google Business Profile, put your correct name, address, and photos in it.
2. Spend 30 minutes daily writing an answer to one question related to your business – like what people search on Google.
3. Keep your website fast, it should open properly on mobile.

Today people say “SEO is dead, AI has come.” But AI will also show only what is on top of Google.

SEO is not dead, the business that is not doing SEO is dead.

Do you want to bring your business to the top of Google, or will you just keep counting likes on Instagram? Think about it.
